We as a family fell upon the joys of Croome just over three years ago and loved it. It is a wonderful place which certainly touches all the senses and has a remarkable history. The grounds and scenery around Croome are lovely and it was very much in my old stamping grounds close to Redditch and Midlands life. It does have strong links to our colonial past but although we may not agree with what went on then, we cannot fail to appreciate its beauty now too. I am really looking forward to our trip today and hope you too will enjoy it. This visit concludes this latest series of three trips to gardens which Sheila and Philip have prepared for us.
Thank you so much Philip and Sheila - I for one really enjoyed that! Croome is in the hands of the National Trust these days and the link with the RAF, RAF hospital and military base there is amazing. I thought, sitting and enjoying a cup of tea and a trip to the loos, it was like stepping back into the days of the war and indeed had a sense of is this now or is it then! Becky went there with a friend and they were lucky enough to be offered a visit to the third floor and the unrenovated rooms, which she said were quite an eye opener.
We are looking forward to another day out with Sheila and Philip next Friday and again, many thanks for today.
Thank you Phillip and Sheila another lovely outing with you, really special music too! X
