You, I’m setting you a challenge! The gospel reading for this week is known as the parable of the talents and if you want to refresh your memory look on Rick’s blog entry for Sunday.
It is well known and reminds us to use our God-given talents. We all have gifts and strengths but what if we aren’t aware what they are? Sometimes others can see something in us that we don’t recognise ourselves. Your challenge is to let people know how you see their gifts. This is such a life-affirming exercise and who knows what positive results it might bring. Good luck!
Physical masks are much on our minds at this time and we all have to use them when we go out. Who would have ever thought this would be a reality. However, it’s human nature for us to hide behind a mask to protect ourselves. The symbol often used to represent drama, is of two masks, one depicting tragedy and the other depicting comedy, inspired by Greek theatre. So masks have been around for a long time. It’s made me think about how we all use these metaphorical masks; do we hide?
Good luck with the challenge.
Thank you to all who have already sent in entries for 'Through a Window' Advent calendar! Just a reminder to anyone still wanting to send in some of their photos of Advent or Christmas things in a window - any window - the deadline for these is 29th November 2020.
We are looking for windows or windowsills where we can see the frame of the window or part of it and the subject is Advent or Christmas. Please give your photo a title eg First snow of winter or baubles for the tree etc. You can let your imagination run riot!
We are hoping to fully connect with our community this Advent and Christmas so please pass or share with anyone local or otherwise who might enjoy this challenge!
