Delighted to let you know that our Archdeacon Mike Komor will be offering the homily/ reflection in Sunday worship on 24th May 2020.
I love the weekend, do you? I love the chance to catch up. I like the change of feel to the working week and of course time to enjoy the garden and family. Even in these days of lockdown I do enjoy the weekend, but recognise it can be harder to for some, feeling even more isolated.
I thought we would look at art for a while and so you will see this popping up in differing ways. I am most grateful to Philip Morris sending me some very good material he has prepared and this shall become a blog day's input over the next few weeks. Thank you Philip.
For today, though I have discovered a very nice video which shows different pieces of art put to music. It is quite long so feel free to dip in and out of it as takes your mood.
Also try some sketching, painting colouring today. Take some paper and draw maybe a flower, or from a picture or photograph. Just enjoy it! There is no-one to look at it or be critical, allow yourself to unwind as you sketch or paint or colour. Let go of your concerns and enjoy the moment. What you produce doesn't matter, no, it really doesn't and through this you may even surprise yourself. If you have some watercolours experiment with shape and form and colour, try different coloured pencils soft, dark etc or even different biros. There is no criticism for what you create.
A few weeks ago, before lockdown, a friend suggested David get back to his painting as a form of relaxation and therapy. I did get him some new paper, paints etc but they remain sealed and untouched. David like many of us, me included, is almost afraid to put anything down, fearing it will be a mess, not to his old standard, and for me memories of my lack of talent in art, fly back to my mind. But it is soothing, therapeutic and a marvellous form of escapism that doesn't call just for talent, but just the desire to try and enjoy. So why don't you today make time to have a go, with whatever you have to hand, sketch with a pen if that is what is available, lined paper is fine and so are childrens' paint sets.

It will include broadcasts, films, things for children, conversations, questions and answers, books etc
Also, in the house competition I am please to say that Corinne and Diane have both won prizes for their lovely creations. Hope you enjoy the prize and thank you for taking the time to enter. Congratulations both!
