If only life was as easy as Marmite; you either love it or hate it. There’s no grey area in the middle, no confusion or scope for vacillating. However, the rest of life - not so straight forward. Perhaps it’s just me but I can usually see merits on both sides of an argument and coupled with not wanting to offend anyone I wallow in a morass of custard. Oh why is life so complex?
This is also true with the opinions you are asked to give, classically does my bottom look big in this?
More seriously, though, maybe being in a grey area is good. Only seeing things in black or white has led the world into strife. We might think about the election in the USA as an illustration of this. Maybe we should plump for the grey party where it’s possible to be flexible, to understand another’s point of view? Come to think of it there aren’t many cut and dried marmite moments and maybe that’s a good thing.
Marmite on toast. Wonderful.
