Compline Wednesday 24th March 2021

Tonight a different style to our Compline. There is no text today but we are invited to listen and join in, many of the words are most familiar to those who come to Compline each Wednesday. This a Roman Catholic liturgy and is very beautiful.

"This is an invitation for us to join in Compline, the beautiful last office of the day, just before bed. This one includes an examen at the beginning, and the Angelus after the office. The antiphon to Our Lady is an English version developed by the Cistercian monks of Mount St Bernard Abbey, "

Mount St Bernard Abbey is a Roman Catholic, Trappist monastery near Coalville, Leicestershire. It was founded in 1835 in the parish of Whitwick and now in that of Charley. The abbey was the first permanent monastery to be founded in England since the Reformation and is the only Trappist house in England. It is a good place for retreats and resting within the liturgy.

May you sleep well.
