In the name of the Father of life;
in the name of the Christ of love;
in the name of the Holy Spirit of comfort,
the Three who are my strength.
Calm me, O Lord, as You stilled the storm.
Still me, O Lord, keep me from harm.
Let all the tumult within me cease.
Enfold me, Lord, in Your peace.
Find rest O my soul in God alone,
my hope comes from him
A moment of quiet, for reflection on the past day:
A response:
Declutter our hearts and lives gracious Lord, of all that speaks of self
and in the space that this creates,
may your love reside and others know that they are welcome too.
Psalm 121: I will lift my eyes up to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord of all, the Lord of heaven and earth. The Lord will not let you stumble the One who watches over you will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord who watches over His people is shade at your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon harm you by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm and will watch over your life. The Lord watches over you as you come and go now and for evermore.
A time of prayer:
For the silent prayers deep in our hearts that have no words but simply images held out to you, of those we love and those we miss the suffering, the sick, the lonely, the lost. Hear our prayers the offering of our hearts and bless the ones we lay before you now. AMEN
The peace of God
be over us to shelter us,
under us to uphold us,
about us to protect us,
behind us to direct us,
ever with us to save us.
Creator God,
I rest in the circle of your love,
And am filled with the wonder of your presence.
Redeemer Christ,
I rest in the circle of your forgiveness,
And i know the joy of being washed clean,
Sustainer Spirit,
I rest in the circle of your guidance,
And am counselled by your wisdom.
God who is One, God who is Three,
You draw all life into the sacred circle
Of your Eternal embrace.
Let us rest in this circle of new life
A Blessing:
May we go now and walk with Jesus .
Listen to his words, be with him on his journey.
Let his story linger in our homes
and in our lives and let him welcome us.
And may God bless us, the Maker the Son and the Holy Spirit. This night and all your nights and days. Amen
Thanks Rhian for the lovely Compline!
