We are pleased that today we again journey with Philip and Sheila to Castle Howard to enjoy The Twelve Days of Christmas celebrated there. We may be a little early but we are all feeling pretty Christmassy now and it is just the thing for us.
Philip says,"A couple of years ago we had a 'city break' in York at the end of November, with the city crowded for the splendid Christmas market at which we managed to do most of our Christmas gifts shopping. We also managed to get to Whitby, which we know well as my uncle and aunt lived there for many years, and Castle Howard, which we hadn't visited before. It was a very pleasant surprise to find the castle was decorated on the theme of the Twelve Days of Christmas, and so I was able to make this video."
We have been able to share a little of York's festive Frost Fayre on our Saturday out a few weeks ago and Philip and Sheila are the first people I have known to have gone there and shopped for Christmas. So lovely! Some of these Advent/Christmas treats away are so worthwhile going on and make the occasion extra special and festive. I fancy "doing" Castle Howard now, do you?
Thank you again for sharing both and we look forward to another Twelve Days trip but not next Friday! Have a very Happy Christmas both and sincere thanks for all your various inputs into our Fridays on the blog.
