Bishop June and something for Dewi Sant!

Enduring Our Cross: Reflection on the Second Sunday of Lent with Bishop June

Curacy Announcement from our Ordinand Rick
I am pleased to be able to announce today that Bishop June has asked me to become Curate with the newly formed Ministry Area of Llantrisant after my Ordination with effect from the end of June.
For the past 2 ½ years I have been so fortunate to have been on placement with you within the Benefice of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast Parish and have learnt so much from Fr Edwin, Rev Rhian and Fr Craig. So, even though this is a happy time for us as a family I will also be sad to leaving because during this placement I have made many friends that I know I will always be able to call on for advice in my future ministry and for that reason this Benefice will always remain very dear to me.
All the congregations that I have met over the past couple of years have been so supportive and encouraging and welcoming to my wife Cath and our family as well so, Thank you.
In particular during Rhian`s absence last year I spent a lot of time with the congregations of St Athan and Gileston and so would particularly like to thank Elinor and Richard at St Athan and Lynda at Gileston for their support and encouragement during what has been for all a difficult year.
I will still be on placement till the beginning of May and hopefully if more Churches are able to open I will hope to see you all in person before I leave.
I look forward to seeing you around the Churches in the coming months as hopefully the situation improves.
Keep Safe
Rick the Ordinand

“Be joyful and keep the faith. Do those little things you have seen and heard from me.” St David .

As today is Saint David's day, I thought it was a particularly apt day for us to celebrate Wales, being Welsh and some good Welsh talent!

Below is a link to a wonderful piece performed by Côr Meibion Pontarddulais - internationally renowned and the most successful competitive Male Voice Choir in Wales.

When we were in the Midlands serving, we became good friends with Les and Mary Last who were members at one of our churches and still are.. We are still in touch and they follow and enjoy the blog. Last week Les sent me the above video for Dewi Sant. Their son David, whom we knew as a young lad is the Principal Accompanist. He always was very musically talented, as is his brother and in deed his whole family. So hope you enjoy this on St David's Day!

And if you haven't had enough of Pontarddulais Male Voice Choir yet, now you can enjoy their annual concert:

Or if you fancy something different, how about some more Welsh talent from Bryn Terfel and John Ieuan Jones performing "Eli Jenkins' Prayer" from Under Milk Wood, written by Dylan Thomas:
